Visiting Warner Hall this fall? Be sure to plan on taking at least one trip to visit our neighbors, Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, while you are in town.
Brent and Becky Heath are third generation bulb growers. They started Brent and Becky’s Bulbs in 1979 and, according to their web site, are “proud to know they have helped many thousands of gardeners plan bulbs and harvest smiles!” Yes…you may remember seeing Brent on the Martha Stewart Show and have heard of them internationally. Their flowers are known and grown worldwide.
Behind the Scenes Tours and Planting Demo: Friday, October 10 at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Come and see what goes on behind the scenes! Enjoy a 45-minute tour of the 16,000 sq. ft. shipping facility, to include the area for bulb storage, packaging and quality control. Time permitting, you may also learn about the on-site composting operation. Guests will also see an outdoor planting demonstration to teach various planting methods in a variety of areas as well as the easiest and most effective way to plant bulbs. You can learn more about the rush of the fall season and the quick three-month turnover to get flower bulbs from around the world to customers throughout the Unites States!

Living Flower Arrangement Workshop: Saturday, October 11, 10:30am. Grab your friends and join us to build your very own living flower arrangements that will soon bloom in the upcoming spring season! We will keep your pot in perfect condition and ready for you to pick up in February just in time for you to watch it bloom. Go ahead…make your Warner Hall reservations now to come back in February!

Gloucester Wine Festival: Saturday, October 18, 11 am to 5 pm. Brent and Becky’s will be hosting the 5th Annual Gloucester Wine Festival. Swing by to taste eight Virginia wines, visit over 50 vendors and enjoy various food vendors.
Tickets are $20 in advance and are available at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, the Chamber of Commerce office, Juan’s Mexican Cantina and online at www.gloucesterwinefestival.com. The gardens will only be open to Wine Festival participants that day.
Jack O Rotten Pumpkin Recycling Program: Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 8. Bring your rotten jack-o-lantern to Brent and Becky’s! It will be added to their compost pile and in return, you will receive paperwhite! When added to compost, pumpkins help make great soil for the gardens. You can also bring leaves in clear trash bags throughout the fall. If you need large collection bags, swing by and grab a couple for free in return for you bringing your leaves back to Brent and Becky’s.

Holiday Crafter’s Market: Saturday, November 8, 10am to 2 pm. The market is sponsored by the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce and will feature a variety of items, great for holiday gift giving, from local crafters. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please contact us for more information. The market is covered making it a rain or shine event.
