The Inn at Warner Hall will feature an accomplished economist – and friend of the Inn – at its second event in its “Dinner and Discussion” series.
On Wednesday, April 24 at 5:30 p.m., Old Dominion University’s Larry Filer, PhD, will present “Beyond Sequestration: Economic Outlook for Virginia and the U.S.” for discussion.
Dr. Filer’s discussion will be followed by a gourmet buffet dinner by Warner Hall’s Chef Eric Garcia.
In addition to serving as Old Dominion University’s Associate Dean of Executive Programs and External Affairs, Dr. Filer holds a faculty position in the economics department as an associate professor.
Dr. Filer’s research focuses on international credit markets, international banking and macroeconomic policy, and he has served as an advisor to state and regional development group and to legislators at the local, state and federal level.
His published work has appeared in numerous academic journals and been featured on mainstream media outlets, including The Virginian-Pilot, Inside Business, Forbes.com, MSNBC, and Yahoo Finance.
The “Dinner and a Discussion” events are $50 per person and include a gourmet buffet dinner by Chef Eric Garcia, complimentary wine and the featured speaker. The next event will be held May 29 and feature Paula Jasinski, a marine biologist and President of Chesapeake Environmental Communications, with “Your Eco Guide to the Chesapeake Bay: Understanding the Waters We Love.”
