As we look ahead to the year, it’s hard to believe the Warner Hall wedding season is already here with the first wedding of the spring only weeks away! We can’t wait to watch all of these special events unfold here at Warner Hall…and see the intricate details we know our brides are already working on.
Wonder if we’ll see any of these wedding trends the media says is hot for 2014!?
-Some brides stick with a traditional wedding whereas others choose a themed wedding. For the 2014 bride, Old Hollywood Glamour will be a top choice, along with fairy tale themed with refined romantic elements. Woodland weddings that look rustic and natural will also be a big trend.
-Wedding invitations are getting smaller. The most requested size is smaller than the standard 5×7. Dainty and pretty are the themes brides are said to choose. Freehand illustrations on invites a popular choice for 2014.
-The gown. We have seen some incredible ones walk across our lawn, down our grand stairs and out of the Washington Suite. In 2014, top gown trends include jeweled necklines, embroidered rhinestones and crystals, cascading back peplum, antique lace inspired and more modern coverage. Silhouette styles and “hug your curves” styles are said to be top picks.
-We’re looking to see more flower crowns and hair embellishments and long, dramatic veils this season.
-Colors. It covers the theme of the whole day from wedding party dresses to the cake and all the details. In 2014, pink is back with nudes, blushes and peach tones. We read that mint may also be a top choice. A navy blue and soft pink combination could make some appearances as well.
-The party! Weddings are a celebration and the reception is always rounds out the day. This year, brides are said to be including more spicy foods on the menu with 90’s music on the play list. Photo booths with fun props will continue to be a guest favorite.
-The wedding cakes are taking a turn from classic butter cream. Lemon may be popular for summer weddings with winter brides preferring chocolate cakes with rich accents of mocha or praline.
-Unplugged. Many brides are opting for unplugged weddings and asking guests to refrain from cell phone use throughout the ceremony and reception.
