Planning on visiting Gloucester for the Daffodil Festival? We hope so. Nothing says spring around the Virginia Middle Peninsula than a celebration of the Narcissus!

We know there will be a plethora of options at the festival’s food court – who can resist a funnel cake? But while you’re on Main Street, be sure to try some of Gloucester’s own fare! Here’s a snapshot of spots you’ll see along Main Street.

Jessica’s on Main: This is no small town eatery. Known for its homemade sweet rolls and baked goods, Jessica’s on Main offers entrees ranging from seafood to chicken to pasta to steak. Just in the mood for a good burger? Jessica’s also specializes in burgers and hot sandwiches with about a dozen different toppings to choose from. Did we mention the rolls? The rolls are made on site. Slap one of their crab cakes on it and prepare to be in heaven. Price range: $7-$16.

Olivia’s in the Village: You won’t find a much friendlier atmosphere than inside Olivia’s in the Village and you’re likely to be treated like a regular once you step in the doors. Owners Gary and Karen Ward know most of their customers by name and make them feel like they are entering their own family dining room. Craving a sizzling steak make to order? The Ward’s and their staff make them to order, including a choice of Hereford ribeyes, top sirloin, grilled beef kebobs with shrimp and the classic surf n’ turf. Olivia’s also serves your favorite pasta dishes ranging from shrimp scampi to its signature lasagna layered with Italian sausage. If you like pasta, you might consider Gary’s Penne Vodka…and then ordering a quart of the sauce to take home. Price range: $4-$17.

6625 Main: Gloucester’s newest steak and seafood restaurant, with its name reflecting its prime Main Street location, offers daily specials and seasonal items. The regular menu includes some favorites from the restaurant’s predecessor, Rosemary and Wine, such as its “three-generation pasta,” fish and chips and fried oysters. Price range: $10-$30.

The Courthouse Restaurant: Breakfast is served all day at this Main Street staple, along with a hearty and warm atmosphere. Breakfast items include French toast, biscuits and gravy, creamed beef, omelets and pancakes. Lunch includes sandwiches, hot plates and fried baskets. Have a sweet tooth? Take home one of their homemade pies or cakes. Price range: $4-$10.

Bangkok Noi Thai Cuisine: Craving some dynamic flavor that will transport you to the streets of Bangkok, Thailand? Bangkok Noi Thai Cuisine is located in the heart of Gloucester’s Main Street area and can do just that. On warm days they features outdoor dining where you can watch the action on Main Street. The restaurant serves traditional Thai cuisine, has a sushi bar and daily specials, to include grilled ribeye steak, rockfish with shrimp and scallops, Hawaiian spare ribs and more. Price range: $10-$30.

Anna’s Pizzeria, Las Tunas and Wild Ginger are located near and in the Main Street Shopping Center and feature traditional pizza, Mexican and Chinese cuisine.
